Twelve episodes into our Famous Folk talking about their favorite albums, and we finally get to talk to a musician!
Singer-songwriter Freddy Johnston joins us to talk about his favorite album, Van Morrison‘s 1977 release A Period of Transition.
Freedy originally hails from Kinsley, Kansas and has been recording since 1990 when he released his first album, The Trouble Tree. He is probably best known for his 1994 album, This Perfect World, which reached 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and saw him named Rolling Stone naming him “songwriter of the year.”
A Period of Transition was Van Morrison‘s ninth studio album, released in 1977 after a two and a half year break. This album has been largely ignored or overlooked by casual fans.
Freedy released two new singles in June of last year, and is currently working on his latest album. You can stay up to date with Freedy by checking out his website, FreedyJohnston.com.
If you’re a fan of This Perfect World, it is now available on vinyl!
